Heating rails 2

Heating rails for heat sealing systems are supplied in infinitely variable lengths from 5mm to 300mm.

Contact units, which are gold-plated on the edges are fitted to an aluminium base and these provide electrical contacts for the measurement wires of the control electronics and the heater connection wires.

The actual heater elements, the so-called heater strips, are thermally insulated from the base and fixed to the contact units by a “belt tensioning system”.

The heater strips have a low thermal mass, so that they are heated and cooled in the shortest possible time.

At several points on the inside of the heating strips there are additional temperature sensors for collective temperature monitoring.

The heater rails are extremely robust and durable. Replacement, e.g. at product change-over, is achieved with few handgrips.

In complex production plants, the heater heads are fitted on semi-gimballed mountings on replaceable units.

Double Heating Head 2

Heating rail unit and semi-gimballed compensation element.

A complete, product-specific heat sealing head.

Connection to the system via a plug-in connector simplifies maintenance and reduces possible downtime.

The integral semi-gimballed suspension is a compensation mechanism to create a uniform co-planar pressure of the heater rail on the sealing face.

Known imbalances of the product are automatically compensated.

Heating Head (with Silicon Belt)

Heater head with a double heater rail unit and an automatic silicon belt transport system.

The transport system is used for a conductive silicon belt, also called an interposer belt.

This belt protects the heater rail and the product from the transient very high forces which are necessary for the heat sealing process.

It also improves product quality or adhesion quality, by better distribution of the adhesive, especially between the conductor paths on the circuit board.

The system is driven by an electric motor. The conveying length of the belt and the number of heat seal cycles between the transport pulses can be adjusted in the system.

The belt tension, the belt length and the general availability of the belt are automatically monitored.

Consequently the process is protected against product damage which could be caused by torn belts or used belts.
